Blue Blood All Access Pass Call for Submissions (Paying Market)
Short version of what I'm looking for is: well-crafted fiction or memoir, cool erotica with music and/or music culture as a central theme, $50 first run + reprint rights, $25 reprints. More formal version below.
Call for Submissions: All Access Pass
Backstage Passes editor Amelia G is reading for a sequel to her anthology of rock and roll erotica, called All Access Pass. Below are general fiction guidelines for Blue Blood fiction projects. For this book in specific, music must play a central role in the story. Events could take place at a punk club or an outdoor festival, characters may be musicians, music may just really speak to a particular character, but it needs to be important. Stories ranging from balls-out memoir or entirely fantastical vampire sex are all fine, within the appropriate theme and quality standards.
When submitting electronically, please make the subject of your email ALL ACCESS PASS SUBMISSION.
Before sending anything over, please ask yourself if your work passes the Blue Blood litmus test: Is it intelligent? Is it sexy? Is it edgy/counterculture? Is it cool? Email electronic submissions to submit@blueblood.net For submissions of fiction or nonfiction text, please have your writing in a Word document with a .doc suffix (not .docx), RTF, TXT, InDesign, or Open Office format. It is preferred if you include an author bio or link to your website or online profiles.
The All Access Pass anthology is seeking erotic stories with a counterculture feel -- Gothic, industrial, techno, rave, punk, metal, dyke, mystery, gangster, hard-boiled, science fiction, cyberpunk, steampunk, vampire, werewolf, medieval etc. At the moment, our needs are for stories primarily from a male or female heterosexual viewpoint, lesbian viewpoint, or female bisexual viewpoint. Often, we can also place male homosexual and gender bender stories in anthologies. We look for work between 2,000 and 7,500 words. Most accepted fiction is shorter than 4,000 words. Death and horror elements are acceptable so long as they do not prevent the piece from being sex-positive. Characters may die but not as part of the sexuality. Kinky is great -- leathersex, bondage, vampirism etc. are all fine. Negative attitudes about sexuality are not fine. All sex must be consensual and arousing. PLEASE DO NOT SEND US STORIES PROMOTING NAZIS, RAPE, INCEST, OR THE SEXUALIZATION OF MURDER. NO SNUFF, RACISM, OR HOMOPHOBIA. If you can write genuinely arousing fiction which still works as a story, do contact us. Payment is net 60 on on-sale date and we generally purchase first worldwide rights (exclusive from acceptance to one year after publication) along with nonexclusive reprint rights.
Critical Acclaim for Backstage Passes
“extremely enjoyably depraved and romantic” --AltPorn.net
"sizzling stories by some of the biggest horror/goth/erotica writers in the genre . . . The authors in this collection are amazing story-tellers and the top of their genres . . . The stories have diverse themes but are all woven together by the lustful threads of a rock n’ roll subculture featuring musicians, rock stars, groupies, nefarious lovers, occultists and blood-letters . . . Backstage Passes is a superb collection of edgy dark erotica" --Domina Doll
"spell binding literature" --Industrial Nation
"managing to capture the essence of what it was like to be young and punk, young and goth, or young and a vampire" --Gram Ponante
"If you like your Rock and Roll the way it was meant to be, this is a reading must." --Redemption
"the worlds of fetish, rock and roll, and horror collide to very erotic effect" --Marquis
"If the erotica you’ve read lately seems a little too safe, this is the anthology for you." --Erotica Readers & Writers Association

420 Juggalo Girl
by Amelia G : April 20th, 2011
I hadn’t recalled that today, April 20th, was 420 Day, but Molly Case at Sexy Fandom posted with this adorable 420 Juggalo cam girl I just had to share. She has a pot leaf drawn on her cheek and somehow manages to combine Juggalette style with something more goth-industrial and have it work. You can check her out live right now and see that I’m not making this up and signing up to chat with Wickid Klowness 420 and others is free as well.
Happy 420 . . .

Hello Kitty Custom Gunworks
Hello Kitty Custom Gunworks
by Amelia G : April 12th, 2011
A little while back, Forrest Black found a mention of the existence of a Hello Kitty handgun. I felt I had to find the source for this little gadget. It is supposedly mostly aimed at the ladies, but I think any gender could carry it with the right accessories. The Dark Hello Kitty inlayed Blackwater Sig Sauer P226 from TJ’s Custom Gunworks is probably the perfect gun for the fabulous drag queen, although I can’t say whether the artisans market it that way. TJ’s will customize handguns with neon colors or spikes or whatever fantasy fun you’d prefer with your fully functional firearm. I admit that I think it would be kind of hilarious to shoot someone with a super cute . . .

Sucker Punch Rejected Geek Rage Contender for Worst Movie Ever
Sucker Punch Rejected Geek Rage Contender for Worst Movie Ever
by Amelia G : March 29th, 2011
When the Sucker Punch billboards first went up in my neighborhood, I felt conflicted. It seemed, on the face of it, to have a decent checklist of things I would like in a movie, but I instinctively lizard-brain hated it. Upon reflection and now that the uniformly negative reviews of the movie are in, here is the problem with media like Sucker Punch.
I might be a little unusual, a little bohemian, artistically-oriented, and a bit disenfranchised. Sometimes the nail which sticks out gets hammered down. Anyone who is a bit different from the norm has most likely experienced being hammered down at some point. (Disclaimer: I would point out that I am about to post a spoiler, but it is impossible to spoil a movie as cynically bad as Sucker Punch.) It doesn’t take an insightful genius to figure out that someone with purple hair might not have sailed through life 100% effortlessly, but having others attempt to hammer one down is not what makes an unusual person interesting. Sucker Punch panders to victims and tries to sell their victimhood back to them. Being unusual doesn’t mean you should embrace victimhood. Ew.
The gist of the movie is that this altporn-looking chick is unfairly institutionalized and scheduled for a lobotomy, in order to rob her of her birthright. So the altporn-looking chick fantasizes that she is actually some sort of stripping prostitute and not a mental patient. Then, when her stripper whore held prisoner in a brothel fantasy gets too sexually specific, she fantasizes that she is a hero in a video game. She is given a quest. Her questmates are raped, tortured, and/or killed. Then the altporn-looking chick hero is lobotomized. But, see, she is still free in her fantasy life, so it is a happy ending. Because chicks, especially alt-y looking ones, cannot change anything or make any kind of difference, even in their own lives, but fantasy can ease our pain.
Uhm, seriously, fuck you, Zack Snyder. Fuck you and fuck the cynical studio that backed this travesty. I note that opening weekend grossed less than $20 million, so I sincerely hope that Sucker Punch’s $82 million dollar production budget is a fiscal sucking chest wound.
It is unusual to find a movie with as consistently terrible reviews as Sucker Punch. It is amusing to . . .

Gothic.net Party Red Carpet Pics
Monday, March 21st, 2011 | Filed under Events,Headline,Horror,Images | Posted by Gothic.net
Everyone at Gothic.net HQ West Coast Division is still recovering from Saturday night. The party to celebrate the newest Gothic.net site design was a smashing success. Luminaries in attendance included writers Maria Alexander, Gram Ponante, and Richard Dean Starr, dark artists Forrest Black, Carlos Batts, and Tim Sin, nightclub impressario Tricia LaBelle, superstar Blue Blood beauty April Flores, Blue Blood costume babe Diana Knight, OG Blue Blood model Daniel Ian Essex of the Astrovamps, media mogul Amelia G, and a rogue’s gallery of other cool creative people. Party-goers enjoyed the giveaways generously provided by BOOM! Studios (including exclusive pre-release copies of their new Clive Barker Hellraiser comic.) The bands The Tragic Tantrum and Mather Louth and Radio Noir and deejays John C & Amanda Jones kept it spooky and fun all night long. Check out the pics from the red carpet, shot by Tim Sin and Amelia G for your viewing pleasure:

Gothic.net Party 18+, Art Show, BOOM! Studios Giveaways
Saturday, March 19th, 2011 | Filed under Books,Events,Headline</span> | Posted by Gothic.net
A few more kickass things:
The event is 18+ (not 21+), which means you only have to be eighteen-years-old to attend. One of the reasons for holding the party at this venue is that they are extra-cool about this.
Blue Blood’s Forrest Black and Amelia G will be doing a digital gallery show. The artwork projected on the walls will be portraiture of many denizens of the dark and fabulous, some of whom will be in attendance.
BOOM! Studios has given us a ton of great books giveaways. There is stuff from a number of their darker lines, including the 28 Days Later series, the Cthulu Tales series, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, and . . . [drum roll please!] issue #1 of the new Clive Barker Hellraiser comic. That’s right! Clive Barker is doing a new Hellraiser story in comic book form. There are multiple cover designs, one with art by Clive Barker, one with work by Tim Bradstreet, and one by Nick Percival. The Hellraiser comic books are not available in stores until Wednesday, but a couple dozen lucky Gothic.net VIPs are going to get a copy of issue number one at the Gothic.net party. Clive Barker + Hellraiser + issue #1 = a very cool collectible . . .

Gothic.net Party!
Gothic.net Party!
Tuesday, March 15th, 2011
You have no doubt noticed the spiffy new design on Gothic.net, so come on out this Saturday, March 19, and help us celebrate. In Gothic.net’s fifteen years, this is probably the sixth or seventh site design. Mixing things up is good. Here at Gothic.net, we pride ourselves on our combination of horrific literary tradition and bad attitude, but that doesn’t mean we don’t like to come out at night sometimes!
The Gothic.net new site design launch party is hosted by Tricia LaBelle and Bar Sinister at Boardners. Boardners is at 1652 Cherokee Ave, just off Hollywood Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood. Boardners is a seventy-year-old historic Hollywood venue. It is rumored to be the last stop for Elizabeth Short, where she drank before her ghoulish murder gave her immortality as the Black Dahlia. At one time, Boardners appeared to be a beauty parlor, but this was really just a front for its true calling as a gambling speakeasy. What a perfect place to celebrate the dark!
After the event, Gothic.net will be publishing photos from the Gothic.net party red carpet. Red carpet arrivals are from 10pm to 11pm. Gothic.net contributors, including fiction writers, artists, and members of the Gothic.net panel of experts, should contact us for guest list. Community members with more than 1,000 posts (who have not been Eyeball SPORKED!) qualify for VIP as well. Blue Blood’s Amelia G and Forrest Black will also be covering the party for magazines and online, with a portrait photo location towards the back door of the nightclub. There will also be performances from two gothic bands on stage, The Tragic Tantrum and Mather Louth And Radio Noir, with DJ John C & DJ Tommy spinning in between and after.
You can use the flyer below for a discount, on . . .

Because a few sets of my photographic work generally post every week (not even counting the tons of other photographers Blue Blood publishes), I always want to post more here. So, today I'm going to post a favorite image from two sets Forrest Black and I shot, one of Crash and one of Voltaire.
Info about the clothing designers and all that good stuff in the Blue Blood Contributers Blog, along with TONS of FREE SAMPLE PICS. Both of these are magazine shots, but four full sets of Crash and a fabulous twenty-two full sets of Voltaire are in the Blue Blood VIP now.
PS If, in this terrible terrible economy, there is anyone still getting paid to slack off at work and read LJ, nobody who actually works for a living (or wishes they had a job now) wants to hear any whining about NSFW in a community already tagged as adult.
