Wish You Were Here: Pirate Bowling and Vegas (PICS)

Bowling dressed as a pirate tonight was super fun. (Hopefully pics of my ginormous hat and low cleavage will be forthcoming.) We were talking about what someone visiting from England should do in Vegas. When asked "What is the one thing someone visiting should do in Vegas?", my first glib thought was that everyone visiting Vegas should do at least one thing they shouldn't do. Upon reflection, I actually think the best part of Vegas is just taking in all the theme hotels in the city where all the six-year-olds who said one day they would have a castle or a pyramid . . . grew up to have castles and pyramids. The snap below is one I took in Vegas which I promised to post. This was not posed; I just knew when to fire the shutter on the camera.

Sorry I haven't updated in a few days. I was scheduled to announce the release of my fabulous anthology Backstage Passes on Monday. But I was wracked with anxiety and inappropriate affect, so, instead of feeling celebratory about the awesomeness, I just mostly felt nervous and queasy. Excited contributors have all been emailing me for the past day to make sure all is well. Okay, that is probably an overshare. Let me start again.

I am pleased to announce that my book Backstage Passes: An Anthology of Rock and Roll Erotica from the pages of Blue Blood just came out. The stories explore different aspects of the eroticism of music subcultures. It's got sexy literary fiction from all sorts of cool genre authors including Poppy Z. Brite, Nancy A. Collins, John Shirley, Will Judy, Shariann Lewitt, Cecilia Tan, Andrew Greenberg, William Spencer-Hale, Althea Morin, Sèphera Girón, Thomas S. Roche, and more. The book includes a story I wrote too, one of my only published fiction works where I wrote in the third person. I'm fortunate to have been able to work with so many great people.

The book won't be available in stores until September, but you all can buy copies now from the Blue Blood Books site and get yours all early way before the general population can. It will make me feel all warm and gooey inside if you do.

I am really thrilled to be able to announce that the first set of Razor Candi has just gone live in the Blue Blood VIP. Yay!

Although Blue Blood receives hundreds of submissions a week and has for many years, I don’t get this excited very often. Heck, I guess we don’t even get to say “yes” all that often, from a percentage viewpoint. I consider what someone looks like in terms of raw materials, but I look at least equally at personal style and attitude and diversity of interests. Although Razor Candi is knockout gorgeous in her photos, I think it is extra-cool that she does her own makeup and styling for her shoots, and, in addition to having her picture taken, she paints and travels and has adventures.

I believe Razor Candi was actually a contributing photographer for one of Blue Blood’s sister sites like six years ago. Pictures I think she shot of Eden Prosper ran on SpookyLinks when it was doing a Spooky Hottie of the Week.

At any rate, Razor Candi has appeared in approximately a zillion publications, including tons of magazine covers. She has a sexy attitude and incredible style, with an artistic eye, and can rock a bunch of different cool looks, although her deathrock one is probably my favorite. I’m honored and pleased that, when she decided to grace the world with beautiful nudes, Blue Blood was her first choice of venue. (Plus this confirms my sense of a just universe where all is right in the world.) Expect to see a lot more Razor Candi in the coming months.</p>

Crash on Blue Blood VIP (PICS)

Fabulous designer Billy from Antiseptic Fashion always knows the hotties and he knows our tastes. So he introduced me and Forrest Black to the lovely Miss Crash. We had a deadline for our regular column for Marquis and Crash was just driving through Los Angeles on her way from Las Vegas to I think San Diego. (She travels a lot.) We got together for a late night shoot and everything just came together really great. The Marquis magazine article has run, although I wish I had some copies. At any rate, so now we are fixing to post whole series of each exotic erotic couture set-up we shot. Here is a sample image from one of them. Whole sets in the Blue Blood VIP as always.

It seems like I’ve been going to a lot of barbecues lately. Probably partly because of the proximity of the 4th of July and partly because people are partying at home more in a down economy. And partly because I love to eat delicious things and have friends who also enjoy delicious things.</p>

Now, truth be told, I don’t really mind some scorch marks on my meat when grilling. So I’ve never thought to myself that I need a product which will keep me from scorching my weenie. I’ve definitely never thought to myself that I really need a Cthulu-themed product which will keep me from scorching my weenie.

April Flores Lit by Fluorescent Paint (PICS)

One of the most wonderful things about shooting April Flores is that she has a very artistic and experimental mindset. So when I told her I wanted to try out photographing her naked, lit only by the fluorescent paint on a hallway we had wandered through, April gamely stripped down immediately and was good to go. This is the result of our experiment. Whole series available in the Blue Blood VIP.
